How to sell to consumers in Tennessee:

As of July 1, 2024, a new bill will go into effect in our state that will impact the way we package and label our products containing hemp-derived cannabinoids.

The new legislation requires all packaging for these products to include the following information:

  • Packaging must be child-resistant and meet all applicable federal, state, and local packaging requirements.

  • Be labeled with various warnings and disclaimers:

    • Expiration date

    • List of ingredients and possible allergens

    • Nutritional fact panel

    • The total amount of hemp-derived cannabinoids in the entire package

    • Code that can be scanned to access a website providing certain information, including the method of analysis for the testing report required under this bill.

  • Serving size 25mg or less, in the aggregate, of one or more hemp-derived cannabinoids

  • Any cannabinoid product can not be in the shape of an animal or cartoon character.

If you are an active retailer in the State of Tennessee, a 6% Privileged tax will begin on July 1, 2023. As soon as the process is available, we’ll add it as a link for your reference.
